Hi, I’m Derek Carlton, your State Farm Insurance agent in Louisville, KY. I opened my office in October 2020, after working as a team member at another State Farm office for two years. Before getting into insurance, I graduated with a degree in public health and worked for the Florida Department of Health for the better part of ten years. I also sold cars for a while, but I realized that I wanted a career that would make a positive impact in my community.

I am a long-term resident of Louisville, and I love being a part of this vibrant and diverse city. My team and I have over 7 years of combined insurance experience, and we are committed to helping you with your insurance needs. We offer auto, home, life, renters, business, and financial services to Kentucky and Indiana residents, also known as Kentuckiana. Locally we service Louisville, Lyndon, Clarksville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Sellersberg, and surrounding areas.

Outside of insurance, I enjoy running, cycling, mountain biking, clay shooting, or spending time with my wife and kids. This year, I ran my first ultra-marathon, and I loved it. It was a challenge, but also a rewarding experience.
