Hi, I’m Derek Carlton, your local State Farm Insurance Agent based in Louisville, KY. I opened my office in October 2020 after gaining valuable experience as a team member at another State Farm agency. Before launching my career in insurance, I earned a degree in public health from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, and spent nearly a decade with the Florida Department of Health. I also worked in the automotive industry, but ultimately, I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact and serve my community.

Helping others protect what matters most is what drives me every day. Whether it’s auto, home, renters, life, or business insurance, my team and I are here to make coverage simple and personalized. We bring over nine years of combined insurance experience to individuals, families, and businesses across Kentucky and Indiana—including Louisville, Lyndon, Clarksville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, and Sellersburg.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, cycling, mountain biking, clay shooting, and spending time with my family and friends. I’m also a lifelong car enthusiast—whether it’s talking shop, going to car shows, or keeping up with the latest models, cars have always been a passion of mine.
